The new William Osler Health Centre Diagnostic Treatment Building in Brampton, Ontario will be located at Bramalea Road and Bovaird Drive. It will operate as an open, accessible public hospital and all health care and clinical patient care services will continue to be provided and operated by William Osler Health Centre.
Architects in joint venture include Parkin Architects Ltd. with Adamson Associates Architects and the construction manager is Ellis Don/Carillion JV
At an impressive 1,250,000 square feet, the new hospital will be one of the most innovative and advanced health care facilities in Canada, housing 608 acute care beds and 18 operating rooms; as well as accommodating 90,000 emergency visits, 160,000 ambulatory care visits and 4,250 births each year.
The project consists of Fulton’s high performance Fulwal 4 with 1200mm deep airfoil sunshades. The vision glass is 1” O.D. insulated glass unit consisting of 6mm clear H.S. glass with Guardian SN68 low-e coating x 6mm clear H.S. glass complete with warm edge spacer and argon gas. The spandrel glass is 1” O.D. insulated glass unit consisting of 6mm clear H.S. glass x 6mm clear H.S. glass with simulated acid etching complete with warm edge spacer and argon gas. The finish is Duranar XL 3 coat painted finish.
The atrium and three courtyards total 70,000 square feet, all manufacturing and assembly completed at CGI Plant in Windsor, Ontario.
