The Henry Ford Cancer Pavilion, now known as the “Brigitte Harris Cancer Pavilion” (BHCP), is named in honour of Detroit businessman and philanthropist, Mort Harris’s late wife, who passed away in 2016 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Mr. Harris generously donated $20 million towards the project which is part of the Henry Ford Health System. BHCP is centrally located in Detroit and will offer person-centred cancer and support services for all patients. The building will have six-storeys of glass on the east and west sides to allow for natural light to enter, and will be approximately 187,000 sq. ft., with a glass skywalk
connecting to Henry Ford Hospital. The project broke ground in the summer of 2017 and is expected to open in 2020.
